Welcome to our new school website

 This  website  contains childrens' work, news from the Parents Association  photos of recent events in our school as well as up-dated school policies.

Congratulations to all the children who participated in the Cork Primary Sports on Thursday, June 1st. Special mention to Callam Hill who came 1st in the u-11 boys race.

 

Our school will close for the Summer holidays at 12 noon on Friday, June 23rd and re-open for the new school year on Friday, September 1st.

Ballyvongane National School , in partnership with the parents / guardians and the wider community seeks to create a happy, secure, caring and Christian atmosphere where each child is encouraged to maximise his / her potential for physical, moral, spiritual and academic development.

- To provide a happy, secure learning environment sensitive to the needs of each child.
- To encourage each child to reach his/her potential through encouragement, reward and praise thus fostering a positive self-image and lust for learning.
- To promote a positive and co-operative atmosphere for children, parents and teachers.
- To instil a respect for others’ rights , views and feelings , particularly in the school community, and a tolerance for diversity , thus ensuring a social maturity : an essential life skill.
- To allow the idyllic rural setting of the school permeate methodologies and subject matter while utilising the expertise of the wider community in customising and enhancing the curriculum.
